In 2010 we decided we really missed traveling and camping at many of the great spots we had visited in the past and there were several others we wanted to see. We found a used 2007 19’ light weight travel trailer that with some modifications was perfect for trips of up to a couple of weeks visiting our favorite lakes and some of the National Parks we had yet to see. Life was good!
On one camping trip in the summer of 2011 I suggested we go to Alaska via the Alaska Highway, something I had always wanted to do. Linda readily agreed so we started to get serious about it. That was until we calculated the cost for fuel for the 8-9000 mile trip. The trip would just be too expensive.
We were still mulling it over when I remembered my Dad always saying “one of these days I’m going to buy a motorhome and your Mom and I are going to travel”. Time slipped by and they never did. A couple of years before he died at age 96 he said, “I really regret we never got that motorhome and traveled!” We decided we weren’t getting any younger so why not “bite the bullet” while we are still willing and able. We are going, among other reasons, so we will have NO REGRETS!
